Memorial Day Wreath-Laying Ceremony

Please join the Navy Memorial for a Memorial Day Wreath-Laying Ceremony in honor and memory of those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. This event will feature the U.S. Navy Band and U.S. Navy Ceremonial Guard. “Taps” will be played in honor of our nation’s fallen service members. 2023 Blessing of the Fleet Ceremony

Each year, starting in 1987 when it was dedicated, the U.S. Navy Memorial blesses the water in its outdoor fountains with water from the Seven Seas and the Great Lakes. This annual blessing recharges the water, bringing the fountains back to life in time for the spring season.
